Meet Rachael Codrington-Indar, Profesh Promotions CEO

Mrs Rachael Codrington Indar,  the woman behind Profesh Promotions

Hello Rachael and thank you very much for taking the time to speak with us and answer our questions. You have been quietly making a name for yourself on the south Trinidad event and entertainment scene for sometime now so please give us an insight into what you've been doing, what you’re currently working on and what we can expect to see from you in the future.

PP: How did you get started in the promotions business?

RCI: I did some modeling here in Trinidad and around the Caribbean in my early years. About a year ago a friend asked me to do promotions with her so I did. However, I quickly realised that specific group did not meet a lot of my expectations and with the support of family and friends I branched off on my own.

PP: (laughs at early years comment) You are still quite young. How did you come up with the idea of Profesh?

RCI: (laughs) The idea of Profesh came almost like a dream to me. I know I wanted us to be branded for beauty, professionalism and brains so Profesh fit well into that equation.

PP: What does the name Profesh Promotions mean?

RCI: Profesh Promotions is exactly what the name implies...professionalism at its best. We are a group of multicultural, multitalented women and men who set ourselves apart by the way we carry ourselves. We not only promote, we plan and host different events. We also do make-up, hair and styling. Organization is also one of our traits.

PP: What events/clients have you worked for to date?

RCI: To date, we have worked for clients such as Prive Nightclub, AS Bryden, Angostura, Marketing & Distribution, NWT and AMCO just to name a few. We have also helped in organising many events such as Soca on d Avenue, tea parties, weddings and many others.

PP: How do your clients describe you?

RCI: (ponders for a moment) My clients appreciate my need for perfection and professionalism. They expect the best from me and my company. Therefore they are always pleased by the way we represent them and their product/services.

PP: Who/What is your dream client/job?

RCI: Oh! My dream job involve promotional travel with my girls to different countries. I love to travel and I think it would be great to be a part of something that is world renowned. Anyone that can make that happen would be my dream client (laughs out loud)

PP: What is the biggest challenge you have had to overcome in your career to date?

RCI: My biggest challenge has been proving myself and setting my own standards apart from other groups. I am someone who is well known and I have always believed the thing people remember most is your name and the type of person you are. It has been very difficult but I have managed to make a good name for myself as well as my workers and that is the most rewarding feeling ever.

PP: How does one come to work at Profesh?

RCI: To be perfectly honest, anyone who desires to be part of Profesh has to go through background checks, training and screening. I pride myself on image and professionalism so anyone who is going to be representing me and my clients has to be committed 110%: no exceptions.

PP: I noticed you have a close relationship with all your girls and you are a bit of a mama bear looking out for them. How do you view your responsibility to your employees?

RCI: (tearing up but looking proud) Whoo ok! I love my girls. Some of them say I'm the best boss but I dont know about that. (laughs out loud) I encourage them to be the best they can be. I advise them, help them and talk to them. I don't see them as only workers but family. When you give respect to others, they give it freely in return. My girls know what I expect and what I don't. They know I always have their best interest at heart and that's the most important thing to them I guess, knowing they can trust me and knowing that I'm not bias.

PP: What do you hope to achieve in the future?

RCI: (hmmmm) Continued success...it's that simple!

PP: Growing up, who were your influences?

RCI: That's easy! My Grandmother Rita was an angel. (crying a little) She challenged me in everyway to be a better person and to acheive the things I want to in life.  My family has also been a tremendous support throughout the years.

PP: What is your biggest temptation?

RCI: Love (laughing her ass off) I know it sounds funny but it is...to me love has the power to fix everything and I try to spread as much love as I can. (smiles)

PP: Who/what inspires you?

RCI: Faith inspires me. Without it, I am nothing. God inspires me to be selfless, loving and kind.  My mother Ann Marie inspires me because of her strength and endurance. My husband Fabien inspires me because after being hurt so many times he still found love to share with me (smiles to herself)

PP: What is your philosophy?

RCI: Treat others the way you wish to be treated. What I dont want for myself I don't do to others. I try to live my life the right way. It's hard sometimes but it's worth it.

PP: What is your signature style?

RCI: (hmmmm) I didn't know I had one. (laughs) My style reflects my personality: witty, charming, sexy and daring!
